Chronic Vaginosis
A chronic vaginosis infection may indicate other viruses that are present including venereal wart or genital wart viruses.
BV is most commonly found in women and is not a sexually transmitted disease, although it is associated with sex. Symptoms may include swelling, itching, abnormal vaginal discharge, and a strong fishy smell. Strong chemicals or soaps, douching, may bring on symptoms, or bacteria spread during sex.
A chronic vaginosis infection may indicate other viruses that are present including venereal wart or genital wart viruses.

If this infection (BV) keeps recurring, the male partners may be treated as well, although they are not usually treated. One way to prevent vaginal infections is to wear clean loose fitting clothes made from cotton or linen. Avoid tight fitting cloths, and avoid douches or scented pads and tampons. A chronic vaginosis infection may indicate other viruses that are present including venereal wart or genital wart viruses.
